Los Angeles, C.A. – March 16, 2015 – Since its founding in 2002, Athgo International (http://bit.ly/1x6c0n3) has been a major international force for change. Athgo offers a unique array of resources including entrepreneurial insights and guidance, interactions with global financial and policy leaders, startup grants, and relationships with national and international business organizations. By empowering young people aged 18 to 32 from around the world with the Four Pillars of Success—Intellectual, Network, Financial, and Core Capacities—Athgo prepares young people to create their own startups that are financially feasible and measurable social and environmental impact.
On August 12-14, 2015, Athgo will host the sixth Global Innovation Forum at World Bank H.Q. in vibrant Washington, D.C. Dubbed “Athgothon,” the forum brings together 200 budding entrepreneurs to learn in an exciting, rewarding, team-focused environment. These entrepreneurs will break into 40 teams to generate commercially viable business concepts with guidance and collaboration from giants in business, innovation and technology influencers, and national leaders from around the world. These sessions will educate participants about the entrepreneurial process, key business concepts, and innovative success strategies. Athgo is proud to announce that businesses such as Boeing, Daimler, Dell, Edison, Intel, and others act as supporters and mentors at its forums.
At Athgothon’s conclusion, the teams with the most promising startups will be awarded Innovation Grants. The winning team at the fifth Global Innovation Forum conceptualized an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone), which currently operates in the Philippines and helps first responders efficiently assess disaster relief. They will be back at this year’s program to showcase their innovation.
The forum also brings high-caliber speakers and global influencers, including such notable individuals as:
